Where TMR Stands: Ted Cruz, The Right & ObamaCare

I watched Ted Cruz on C-SPAN but I couldn't hang with him.

He's got no charisma.

He's obviously a quick thinker, smooth too.

But it's all calculated show with no imagination.

I'd rather hang online, getting annoyed, than with that well-spoken void.

My beef is simple - it's a worthless exercise in futility, under the circumstances, and I want a PRODUCTIVE Republican Party.

Ever since we got mixed up with Mitt Romney, this party's had a tin ear, and if you think Ted Cruz is singing your song, I'd say that's a fine example of it right there.

ObamaCare's a disaster.

We can actually work with that if we were smart.

Nobody but Tea Partiers and insiders give a fuck about Cruz's fiasco,...

The Only Thing Left Is To Bring A Gun To The Senate

Ted Cruz Should Be Filibustering To End Homeopathy

Without taking on how to fight cultism, Prof. Edzard Ernst always ends up at the same place as TMR:
"Firstly, if people employ homeopathy to protect themselves from infectious diseases like malaria, typhus, TB, AIDS etc., or if people believe those charlatans who promote it as an effective cure for life-threatening conditions, we do have a serious public health issue at hand. Secondly, why should the vast majority of health care professionals bend over backwards to do their very best implementing the concepts of [Evidence Based Medicine], if homeopathy is being given a free ride to continue existing in a virtual universe of belief-based medicine? Thirdly, how on earth can scientists possibly explain 'the science of genetics and how it develops, or the issue to do with climate change', if they lack the skill, courage, power or honesty to adequately respond to harmful quackery masquerading as medicine?"

Exactly - in a world where everyone is too,...whatever,...to distinguish between water and medicine, there can be little hope they can make an intelligent decision on anything else.

And the results are bearing that out, daily,...

I've Found The 1 Place Where Black Men Are Welcome

Next You'll Be Trying To Say Varicose Veins Are Sexy

Alright, white people, stop crying - I admit it:

So now, let's move to who her voice sounds like,...

TMR Gave Me An Escape (But It Was Still A Close Call)

Can we kid? Yeah, we can.

There's been a lot of reverse-racism lecturing going on:
Let’s review: a “lynch mob,” in American culture, is a group of people who extrajudicially captured, murdered, and mutilated thousands of men, a majority of whom were black, in the 100-year-long period following the emancipation of African slaves in the 19th century. It is a particular, historically contingent phenomenon, an outgrowth of white Southerners’ anxiety about maintaining the social and economic order slavery had enforced.
It is not “people who are criticizing me.”

I should add that, if you were being criticized, you might've been facing an online lynch mob if:

A) You're black and under attack.

B) The criticism was coming from a white mob.

C) The white mob said they don't think you're necessary.

D) There was no one willing to stop it as it happened,...

If Oprah Runs For Office The Entire Planet Will Explode

Just like with Jesse Jackson, Jr., one reason I knew Mitt Romney was going to be a failure was his involvement in the NewAge.

And I'm not alone in how I look for it - simple skepticism.

The guys behind South Park use it - and doctors, too. Check out Orac busting Carol Alt, another self-appointed "Miss Information":

Before I wrote this post I Googled “Carol Alt cancer,” and what I found was surprisingly thin. There’s this article from 2008 in which Alt is quoted as blaming cervical and uterine cancer for the failure of her marriage to Ron Greschner because she had been rendered unable to have children and Greschner very much wanted to have children. This happened back in 1997; so her cancer diagnosis must have occurred before that. There was also this article, which said basically the same thing but also revealed that Alt is very much into raw food woo. This article reinforces the same points, but doesn’t mention Alt’s battle with cervical cancer and instead attributes her adopting a raw vegan diet to feeling run down and larger as she got older. In the article, she also spews many of the tropes and bits of misinformation about raw vegan diets. She even blathers on about “acid diets” and how the body likes to be “alkaline.” Holy Robert O. Young, Batman!

Here’s the interesting thing. Alt takes a lot of supplements. A lot of supplements,...

Another fool "on the path" - Glenn Reynolds has promoted the wonders of "raw food woo" as well. And wouldn't you know it? Carol Alt's possibly using supplements provided by who else?

Mitt Romney.

Corruption, profiting from spreading bad advice, losing elections, selling and/or taking worthless concoctions, giving money to criminals, etc., it's always the same.

Seriously:

NewAgers - and the problems they'll eventually accrue for us - just aren't that difficult to discover ahead of time,...
