Being Right In Isolation Ain't Like Being Wrong In Public

Speaking as a Republican, and an "actual victim" (for now) it's wild to discover Jennifer Rubin's outlook jibes with my point of view, all the way down to the race results:

Right-wingers may think ideological purity is what counts at the polls, but in fact voters, including conservatives, respond to positive, confident leaders who overcome adversity and don’t bemoan their own plight. They want politicians to console and assist actual victims, not claim the mantle of victimhood for themselves. (Maybe that is why New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie continually leads in, albeit premature, 2016 presidential polling while Texas Sen. Cruz is barely ahead of Rick Santorum.)

That's another conservative piece that sounds like it could've been directed at Glenn Reynolds, as he and the Right continue flirting with Cruz, to the detriment of the cause.

And more than just the put-upon tone of all these wealthy men, is the realization they're just talking to hear themselves talk - if we lose we lose - all while turning a profit as they do so.

Let's not forget that.

My life is at stake in my words - what's Reynolds risking?

Nothing - he can lose every day.

If the Right never wins another election, Glenn Reynolds KNOWS there's millions of seemingly-intelligent people who will still treat him like he knows something more - and continue to give him money to maintain the illusion.

That's crazy - and down right no-value-for-a-dollar un-American.

I'd venture to say, that type of behavior is probably a main reason the results are so damned predictable,...

 Please make Chris Christie the President so, at least, NewAgers will have to finally shut up about their frustrations with Americans speaking and being American:

Christie defended his calling the New York Daily News reporter “a dope,” saying he is free in expressing his opinion. He added the newspaper was well within its right to express its opinion when it referred to the New Jersey governor as “fatso” in a recent headline. 

“I don’t worry about this stuff. Whenever you express opinions in this world, other people have opinions about your opinions, and that’s OK,” he said. “So, you know, I thought a particular reporter was a dope, I said so, and I heard him on the radio today … and he seems like a very nice young man, a dope nonetheless, but a nice young man.”

Brilliant - just what I'm looking for:

If I Could Levitate Republicans Would Think About Me

We're starting to close in on why some Republicans don't get Chris Christie:

“Common sense sells. He’s great on that."

And then, there's this horror beyond all horrors, a line the rest couldn't cross on their own:

"He is pouring resources into an effort to attract blacks, Hispanics and women,..."

Crazytalk. (Tee-hee.) Alright, enough, fuck the charade:

Here's the dumbest political quote I've read today:

“Chris Christie’s strategy is brilliant -- it worked swimmingly for Jon Huntsman.”

Madness. Simply madness. 

To compare the Earthy, self-assured, credible, and bombastic Christie - with his 71% approval rating (which Drudge and Reynolds are, in an effort of Right-Wing self-sabotage, trying to pull down) - to that yuppie, insecure, never-had-the-support-of-anyone, cipher of a Mormon PROVES these Republicans/conservatives/Libertarian/yahoos can't see what's right in front of their eyes. 

 Then again, their support for Romney did that already - last year,...

I think the problem is people who can't prioritize:

It's sad to discover people in politics don't understand the obvious already, but it's grand to see someone (else, besides myself) admitting the worth of college professors:

“I am in this business to win. I don’t know why you are in it. I am in this to win,” Christie said at the luncheon, his first appearance a meeting of the RNC. 

“I think we have some folks who believe that our job is to be college professors,” he said. “Now college professors are fine I guess. Being a college professor, they basically spout out ideas that nobody does anything about. For our ideas to matter we have to win. 

Because if we don’t win, we don’t govern. And if we don’t govern all we do is shout to the wind. And so I am going to do anything I need to do to win.” 

Christie also appeared to rap Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, another potential White House hopeful who made headlines in January when he implored the GOP to “stop being the stupid party.” 

"I'm not going to be one of these people who goes around and calls our party stupid,” Christie said, a startling remark given that Jindal and Christie work hand-in-hand as chairman and vice-chairman of the Republican Governors Association. 

“We need to stop navel gazing," he added. "There's nothing wrong with our principles. We need to focus on winning again. There's too much at stake for this to be an academic exercise. We need to win and govern with authority and courage."

O.K., Folks, there's your Clinton Coronation Killer. He can do it and he's up for the game. Now, are you going to be the libs during Iraq and try to screw the pooch for y(ourselves), or will you finally rip the weakened Hilldabeast - specifically as the Democrats' vile "feminist" leader - a new one?

Listen To Cons Chatter (And Find That's All There Is)

The Crazy Vote. Mark Levin says "I Will Do Everything I Can To Make Sure Christie Is Not The Nominee." Because actually picking someone from our "side," who the American public can get behind, is madness. "I bet he's done ten great things, but he hasn't done enough." Levin says. So, the man who said he'd be glad to fight with the hopeless Romney as president won't fight with Christie, though he's got an actual shot at winning. Like I said, Mark's gone crazy.

 

 Rand Paul - being not a Birther - wins the less-crazy vote. Sounds like he's been listening to his dad, who called his dust-up with Christie "irrelevant" and seemed embarrassed his boy has learned so little. Good.

 

 BTW - shades of Obama - isn't that reporter in the last clip the same one who, unprompted, called George W. Bush a monkey? Why yes, yes it is. Curious thing, that.

 The semi-sane vote. Charlie seems to think the R's have an attractive field with Chris Christie and an assortment of obvious wannabes and milk toasts (Please stop putting Bobby Jindal in front of me - it's not going to happen). He's right, that Hillary can be beat, that she's an unattractive candidate. So what do you do? Right now, playing to our strengths, we elect Christie and deal with that fall-out afterwards.

My Practical Conservatism Is Better Than Libertarianism

As usual, I'm politically where the action is, and my conservative "friends" - as usual - are stuck out there putting lipstick on a pig again:

"Today, we’re reminded of why [Rand] Paul will never be able to gain much traction outside the libertarian-right without a big change: His shocking blind spot on race."

Oh, don't I know it. Notice my little racial tirade over the weekend? It was in response to Rand Paul supporters. Those people Public Enemy's Flava Flav should've been talking about (instead of just feminists) when he said, "You're blind, baby. You're blinded by the facts, of who you are, because you watching that garbage - straight garbage!" 

And yes, I include libertarian Glenn Reynolds' "advice" as a big part of that ugly, useless package.

Worse than a bunch of Romney-backing clowns now trying to tell my black ass what to do, is the realization these conservatives obviously have no clue what they're doing politically (after - based on Reynolds' wrong-headed assessment of a Romney win - they'd smugly told me "We don't need your vote!") They're now so ideologically driven they have totally forgotten how to win elections. 

Get over it, guys - reality's against you.

I mean, Duh-and-Double-Duh. You know how this round is going to go:

They've got a winner in Christie (who they blame for Obama's win, instead of themselves, for backing Romney) but, rather than taking the win, they're going to embarrass themselves further by bashing their own heads in. Then they'll bash in the heads of anyone who doesn't agree totally with everything they demand (that's what they did with me) and then they'll lose. Again. Without honor or even a smidgen of hope for success. 

That's crazy.

Like the last man I voted for, George W. Bush, I like being right more than being popular.

If you're as resistant to it as liberals - along with the need to apologize when you're wrong - then I hope you like nature, a lot, because you're going to be wandering in the political wilderness for years, and possibly decades, to come.
