Choice - Who's Smarter: Sarah Palin Or Thomas Sowell?

Sarah thinks Ted Cruz is Syria and worth defending:
"Sarah Palin is actually right about something.
...Former Governor [Sarah] Palin (R-AK) tweeted, on Sunday, that [Chris] Wallace ought to reveal which sources had sent him the dirt on [Ted] Cruz. She tweeted “@FoxNewsSunday Keep it TRULY fair & balanced. Release the GOP names encouraging you to trash @SenTedCruz. No more anonymous sources.”

Thomas Sowell sees Ted Cruz as the Republican's Vladimir Putin:
"What could possibly rescue Barack Obama from all these political problems and create a distraction that takes all his scandals off the front page? Only one thing: the Republicans.
By making a futile and foredoomed attempt to defund Obamacare, Congressional Republicans have created the distraction that Obama so much needs. Already media attention has shifted to the possibility of a government shutdown.
Politically, it doesn’t matter that the Republicans are not really trying to shut down the government. What matters is that this distraction solves Barack Obama’s political problems that he could not possibly have solved by himself.
The time, effort, and credibility that Republicans are investing in trying to defund Obamacare is a high-risk, low-yield investment."

So who's right for the Right? You know my views:

Hot Air Destroy Glenn Reynolds' Lawyering Skills Again

This is the second hit - Hey, guys, yell "Allahu Akbar!" when you do this kind of thing, will you?

My, my. Instapundit's political observations are looking kind of sketchy all of a sudden. How long can he stand?
How many hits can he take?

I don't know - he looks pretty strong - but, before the smoke clears, I might start a "running" tally,...

Glenn's Intuition: Speculation, Assumptions & Guessing

Some happy thoughts from Glenn Reynolds:
HMM: Unlike 1995, Americans say they would blame GOP, Democrats equally for shutdown. I suspect this reflects two things: Obama’s political skills being inferior to Bill Clinton’s, and the traditional media having less power.

That's great - I think it reflects something altogether different:

YOU'RE WASTING OUR TIME!

"Colorblind" White People (Who Talk About Race All The Time) Don't Like It When Blacks Join The Conversation

"I had to hold my head down and could not make contact with the white masters. I heard the instructor ask kids behind me to open their mouths so their teeth could be checked. Some were asked to jump up and down."

The loyalty blacks have to their church also has proven costly, said officials at Faith Communities Today, a nonprofit based in Hartford, Conn. A 2013 study revealed that black churches have collected more than $420 billion in tithes and donations nationwide since 1980, an average of $252 million a week. “What people fail to see and understand is that, the church pastors aren’t waiting for miracles to fund their lifestyles, they don’t have to pray, day in and day out, to make their ends meet,” said Northwest resident and author, Byron Woulard. “They are getting rich off God, not from God,” he said.

Call Me When You Have A Plan To Clean Up Washington

I just got this question from Insty's:
IF THE HOUSE GOP VOTE IS SO BAD FOR THE REPUBLICANS, why is Obama so angry?

Deep breath if you remember the Bush years - GO:

BECAUSE YOU'RE WASTING HIS TIME!

But thanks for the tip on getting rid of fruit flies, though.

It just goes to show you:

You might get the hang of this "being useful" thing one day,...

"Nowhere To Run, Nowhere To Hide" Ain't Just A Song

I don't know if this victim was a conservative or not (I've been told there are no "black" victims) but I am 100% positive it wouldn't have made a difference:
Early Saturday morning a white woman in North Carolina opened her front door to find a black man standing before her. Fearing a robbery, Sarah McCartney immediately shut the door and called 911. The man was 24-year-old Jonathan Ferrell, a football player for Florida A&M University. Shortly before arriving on McCartney’s doorstep, Ferrell had accidentally crashed his car nearby, pulled himself from the wreckage and was seeking assistance. When the police arrived, Ferrell ran toward them and was shot 10 times by 27-year-old officer Randall Kerrick.

Here's the post-Trayvon, if-Obama-had-a-son, reality:

Considering my trust in whites, that could've easily been me,...

Living A Tom Wolfe Novel Every Single Day Of My Life

After she pulled an Althouse, and backed Obama before Romney, I still don't understand why Gawker is one of the few outlets providing this kind of political coverage:

Breathy Reaganite Peggy Noonan has lived. She has stayed in a hotel, traveled to darkest Brooklyn, and even seen a Mexican.

Truly living a life of danger:

But thankfully, unlike Althouse, Peggy's never deigned to show "the other half" her travel photos,...

I Will Be Wrong When I'm Proven Wrong: But I Like Bein' Right So Bein' Wrong's Just A Little Out Of The Question

It's like I'm a mind reader, a preacher, a prophet, a seer of stars - or just a non-believer comprehending his surroundings better than a bunch of spirituality-sucking political narcissists:

Oh yeah - I also have excellent timing,...

It's Hard To Hang Out With Your Own Kind When You're Born Here (And Your Own Kind Thinks You're Different)

"My dad has recently become much more conservative. He now says things like, Obama isn't American, he is a Muslim, he hates whites, he might be the anti-Christ, he is unfit as president, he is a buffoon, etc. Outside of Obama, he complains about how welfare is being taken advantage of by 'the blacks,' or goes on about how this is a Christian country. He is raising my mixed-race niece with my mother, and I don't want this to hurt her self-image."

No problem - she can go online and hang out at Ann Althouse's, or Lem's, or Instapundit, and hear that shit all day long. No - I didn't say to do it so she'll get used to hearing abusive bullshit - she won't:

But she will get used to assholes in charge acting like any solitary minority taking abusive bullshit from whites - especially in a group - is normal.

That's an important "life lesson" in itself,...

Instapundit: A Little Too Interested In How To Kill Blacks On The Left And Not Enough On How To Stop The Killing

Sigh. Another day, another load of bullshit from Glenn Reynolds.

I just looked over and what's Instapundit got on the Washington shooter?

Well, since he wanted to make sure we knew the guy wasn't a "Texan" yesterday, today we have to know the (apparently black) guy liked the black president.

I know - you're shocked - me too.

There's also a lot of blather about the AR-15, and how the media got the gun wrong, blah, blah, blah.

But - lo and behold - check out what DRUDGE is linking to, today, now that the information stream is settling:

Or how about this from Drudge:
Some saw the tragedy as an opportunity to publicly air some difficult topics that Buddhists most often discuss only among themselves. Is the peaceful Buddhist an illusion? Do Buddhists and Buddhist temples deal directly enough with the topic of mental illness? And, in fact, might Buddhism hold a special attraction for people who are mentally ill?
“As Buddhism has spread in the West, it has put forth and maintained an image of being a peaceful religion,” Buddhist ethicist Justin Whitaker, author of the American Buddhist Perspective blog, wrote Tuesday. “This is a myth.”
Buddhism can seem particularly appealing to “mentally unbalanced people seeking to right the ship of their lives, to self-medicate, to curb their impulses, or to give them a firmer grip on reality,” Clark Strand, a contributing editor to the Buddhist publication Tricycle magazine and a former Zen monk, said in an interview.

I've been telling you that, in one form or another, for some time, too.

So once again it's happened - just like with music:

Based solely on watching the "spiritual" machinations of my country - I'm nailing another shooting down, but without a word (or link) from conservatism's indispensable man. The NewAge guy who's always pushing yoga, meditation, and outright quackery.

It's totally chickenshit.

Chickenshit to me and both of our readers - As I wrote once before, under these identical circumstances:

When it comes to NewAge, Law Professors blogging, and sorting this nation out, "Today's Intellectual Class Couldn't Catch A Cold"...
