"Nowhere To Run, Nowhere To Hide" Ain't Just A Song

I don't know if this victim was a conservative or not (I've been told there are no "black" victims) but I am 100% positive it wouldn't have made a difference:
Early Saturday morning a white woman in North Carolina opened her front door to find a black man standing before her. Fearing a robbery, Sarah McCartney immediately shut the door and called 911. The man was 24-year-old Jonathan Ferrell, a football player for Florida A&M University. Shortly before arriving on McCartney’s doorstep, Ferrell had accidentally crashed his car nearby, pulled himself from the wreckage and was seeking assistance. When the police arrived, Ferrell ran toward them and was shot 10 times by 27-year-old officer Randall Kerrick.

Here's the post-Trayvon, if-Obama-had-a-son, reality:

Considering my trust in whites, that could've easily been me,...

Sounds Like Somebody's Going To Have To Get Serious

I'm still down. Not really fighting today, just getting through it. But, in my dark mood, I am enjoying the show:
The man known as President Obama left the building after his Syria speech. What’s left in the White House is Barry Soetoro or whatever he goes by now: a shrunken, confused husk surrounded by court jesters, second-rate ideologues, and sycophants. And while it may be tempting to gloat at his reversal of fortune, the truth is that the collapse of the presidency represents the most dangerous moment in America since the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Olympus has fallen. America’s leadership is functionally impaired in the face of a thrusting, fast-moving, and possibly brilliant opponent. Of course, the fact that Putin was up against a broken reed made it easier for him. Yet however one may admire Putin’s skills, it must be an admiration tempered by fear, of the kind felt by the British 8th Army in the face of Rommel, of the sort with which Gamelin regarded Guderian. Nothing can disguise the fact that Putin is the enemy and America is less-than-competently led in its contest against him. Something must be done to stem the tide. But what?

"Less than competently led"?  And this is a new phenomena you say? Interesting. "Court jesters, second rate ideologues, and sycophants"?

You're missing Mitt Romney again, aren't you?

I don't understand what's happening, that's my "problem". I was sure our nation's highest concerns were always recycling, gay marriage, American Idol, and "fun". Anyone who didn't think so was an asshole. I heard it said at the alternative medicine store and it's really popular. Like a celebrity. That's how we judge things, you know:

By how popular they are,...

I Had To Stop What I Was Doing To Be Sure I Heard You

Wait a minute:
"You’d think an accusation of sexual assault would be career-ending for your hard-working professional saint, but Sant Shri Asaramji Bapu has nothing to fear. At a time when people want the harshest punishment for the five slum dwellers, four of them reportedly Muslim, accused of raping a young working woman in Mumbai, the charges of sexual abuse against the guru have led to an outpouring of sympathy and support,..."
Figures.

I've so little interest in visiting India, "The Most Spiritual Place On Earth" may as well try selling this other angle now:

Bring money and you, too, can be a "saint"...

I'm Trembling As I Compose This (I Need To Be Held,...)

Look - we can fix this race thing. We've just gotta prepare! Like, whenever minorities get invited to appear on TV and yell, "Y'all's CRAZY!" have a scrolling translation for white folks ready, like this:
"If America’s bipartisan establishment is agreed on something, you can be pretty sure it will be a disaster. That is my reluctant conclusion, after nearly three decades of involvement in politics and journalism, in Washington and New York.
I say 'reluctant' because I am not a populist by temperament. I respect academic training as well as expertise based on personal experience. I think that institutions are, or should be, less likely to make mistakes than individuals. I detest people who pose as “contrarians” for the sake of controversy. I would happily be an establishmentarian, if there were a U.S. establishment worth belonging to.
But the track record of what passes for the bipartisan elite in the U.S. in the last generation has been pretty poor. Instead of sober, dispassionate analysis of long-run trends, considered from the perspective of the nonpartisan national interest, the conventional wisdom among America’s movers and shakers has consisted of one hysterical fad after another."

See? Huh? Viola! I'd go from an "Angry Black Man" to a guy who doesn't waste a lot of words.

BTW - if the networks ever decide to call me - better amend that translation to say it's no accident the NewAger's favorite question is "What are you afraid of?"

What's an accident is, whatever we fear, we can find out - fast - at The Drudge Report.

I'm never getting on TV, am I?
