PJMedia's Chris Queen A) has really bad taste in music but B) hasn't fully embraced the conservative concept of leaving other people the fuck alone:

As a Christian, my prayer for Billy Corgan is that his search for spirituality will lead him to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, but seeing him move out of a nihilistic spiritual emptiness into an honest quest for higher truth encourages me. It’s a huge first step, and I pray it leads him to faith in Jesus.

BTW - Billy Corgan, leader of the awful band Smashing Pumpkins, is a thrice "married" NewAger, so I get the idea. But Queen sounds too much like Virginia Republican Lt. Gov. candidate (and pastor) E. W. Jackson, for my taste:

“Any time you say, ‘There is no other means of salvation but through Jesus Christ, and if you don’t know him and you don’t follow him and you don’t go through him, you are engaged in some sort of false religion,’ that’s controversial. We Is US: The United States (And That Means America)

 

 Over the last three posts, I've given you examples of how the absurdity of slavery negatively impacts our nation - I gave you a link to slavery, specifically, in the food industry.

   

 I've made the point conservative politics - unfortunately even the Republican Party's - aren't relevant, in any real sense, to our lives.

   

 We're doing the best we can, with what little we got, folks:

Here's The Face That Destroyed Conservatism For Me

For two years I told any conservative who would listen this guy was a kooky cult leader, a terrible politician, and he'd lose a totally winnable election. Their reply? 

 We don't need your vote, Crack. 

 As my black friends used to ask, why was I spending time with idiots?

 

Beliefs Aren't Black & White (But Exist In A Grey Area)

Here's a quote - not an article - making a true claim:

All true, but it's still a lie - a lie of omission. They leave something out. Here's the flip side, written by me:

Oh, man, Westerners are such a cultish crack-up - so many joiners and followers - but we're all paying for the privilege:

You Go From Cold To Hawt But Getting All Hawt Is Best

I remember something about standing astride history yelling "Stop!" but all I see is confusion:

Where to even begin? Ms. Karasik relates her experiences being a 14 year old girl, saying that she and her classmates thought about sex just as much as the boys. She also goes on to claim that girls were having sex with teachers in high school and college and nobody really got hurt. She generously allows that teachers who are caught “having sex with” (i.e. raping) their students “should be removed from their jobs” but only until they complete “rehabilitation.” 

I remain puzzled as to how this managed to make its way onto the pages of the Washington Post, but it has.

Here's someone else from the same article:

How is society “damaged” by protecting children from predatory teachers? Karasik doesn’t actually say, other than to imply that Morales might not have committed suicide had the criminal case not been pending. Despicable. Oh, and maybe students would be more likely to discuss sexual issues with school counselors. 

I repeat, this was published in the Washington Post. How low can we go? I am afraid we are going to find out.

Self-Serving? (Why, If That's The Case, I'll Take Two) II

Naturally, Rush Limbaugh is on the mark, waaay before the rest of these klutzes, in assessing why conservatism doesn't win:

"We're nowhere in the pop culture. We are nowhere in movies. We're nowhere in television shows. We are nowhere in music. Nowhere!"

*COUGH*

I guess this is a bad time to remind everyone, after years of releases, I've got a conservative album in the works and need donations to finish it, huh?

You Wanna See Laziness? (It's Ben Affleck As Batman)

Since Batman is TMR's unofficial mascot, I thought about saying something on this casting decision, but had decided against commenting until I saw this:

Is Ben Affleck man enough to play “Batman?” 

Controversy erupted across social media networks when Warner Bros. announced Thursday the 41-year-old Affleck will star in the newest version of the Dark Knight, a movie that promises to bring Batman and Superman together.

Talk about a symbol of what's wrong with Hollywood. Who in their right mind would consider Ben Affleck to play Bruce Wayne? Isn't that kind of fucking with our memories a bit much? And not in a good way?

And what must Hollywood think of Dark Knight fans (the only reason the movies got started) to put an unabashed liberal in the costume, of an unabashed conservative crime fighter, liberals had labeled a "fascist" when shown in his original form?

You KNOW they were planning on doing their liberal hocus-pocus on our hero. Well, fuck them:

Men Without Game Get Caught Like This All-The-Time

Here's another bit of wisdom, courtesy of that guardian of manliness, Glenn Reynolds, again (Am I the only person who actually reads him, or the only one noticing what he promotes?) This time he's pumping "7 Ways to End a Toxic Relationship" - if you're a young man, reading Reynolds, live and learn:

"If you're in a toxic relationship, you probably know you want to get out. But you feel stuck, paralyzed, and nagged by doubts. You might cling to hope that he could change."

"He"? Where'd the word "he" come from? Can't "toxic relationships" go either way? Then why the gender targeting language? Oh yeah - because Glenn's wife wrote a book. That he's read. But didn't understand. So he promotes the opposite. Leader of the blogosphere, mind you. Tea Party hero, this guy. Law professor. Brilliant as a booger. How about this one:

"7. You don't owe anyone any explanations. You don't owe your family, friends, children, or even your partner justification that satisfies them as to why you want to leave."

Brilliant - thanks, Glenn. 

Considering how everybody helps out in a relationship, you - that would be the woman - don't owe anybody anything when your narcissism grows to the level of man-eating beast. That's what conservatives are fighting for, correct? Must be - Glenn's promoting it and he's the Big Dawg.

I don't know about his home life but, as far as his blog, he's practically our Anthony Weiner,...
